Benefits of Pilates

Pilates focuses on controlled movements combined with concentration using the breath to engage the core, helping you to execute movements with maximum power and efficiency.  Learning to breathe using the Pilates method can reduce stress and promote a feeling of calmness.
There is an emphasis on breath, spinal and pelvic alignment, and an attentiveness to fluid, precise, purposeful movements, which brings you in tune with your body and how it moves.

Develop a Strong Core

We all hear that Pilates exercises develop a strong “core,” It’s true! It works the deep abdominal muscles and the smaller intricate muscles surrounding areas from the shoulders to the gluts. We focus on these during the exercises, with the intention of incorporating them for efficient movement into your everyday activities.

Create Long. Lean and Flexible Muscle

When muscles are tight and shortened, the body is more prone to injury.  Pilates balances the muscles by strengthening and stretching giving them more elasticity. Pilates moves the body through its full range of motion, promoting and improving joint mobility.
