This will be an introduction to the diet along with the science behind it, foods that are keto friendly and those to avoid, and many resources to go to while learning to live this lifestyle.
It is well known that diet plays a huge role in our health, and many of the diseases that people struggle with (Diabetes, Hypertension, Coronary Artery disease, kidney disease etc.) can mostly be prevented with the proper diet. I believe that if we, as individuals, take responsibility for our health, the health of the whole nation will eventually improve. As we educate ourselves on what is beneficial for our bodies, we naturally start making better dietary choices for ourselves. It is hard to give of oneself if constantly battling fatigue, lethargy and sickness. As a person starts giving their body and brain the fuel it needs, energy levels increase, mood is enhanced and it is from that place of wellness that we can share our own unique gifts and talents, and truly make our lives more impactful to the world.

I am a registered nurse with my BSN from Newman University. I am a pediatric dialysis nurse and my passion is therapeutic nutrition and health and wellness. I practice yoga and meditation daily and make my health a priority by getting plenty of sleep and exercise and limiting those things in my life that cause me stress and anxiety. At the beginning of the year, I eliminated sugar, alcohol and carbs from my diet and increased the amount of fat I am eating. I have never felt better. I feel like I am finally functioning from my highest potential due to this way of eating. I am so excited by how I feel that I want to share this way of life with others.
