Fundamentals, abdominal awareness & exercises
Week 2: Secondary Powerhouse & Spine
Incorporating shoulder strength & stability. Core control & supporting the spine.
Week 3: Lower Extremities
Toning, flexibility & balance
Week 4: Mat & Reformer
Challenging Mat & Reformer workout

Week 1: Light history about Joseph Pilates, the Pilates Method and why all movement stems from the powerhouse- attaining good abdominal control. Understanding concepts of abdominals in & up and the importance of a strong core & pelvic strength and stability.

Week 2: Understanding the secondary powerhouse- using the shoulders, chest and arms while using the core to support the back and pelvis during arm and shoulder exercises.

Week 3: Looking at the body as a whole, why we need to have balance between strength and flexibility in the legs, ankles and feet. Understanding how the core helps us in achieving this.

Week 4: Taking Pilates into your everyday life & other workouts. Completing a challenging Mat & Reformer workout.

Cassie has been teaching Classical Pilates since winter 2015 and is certified in Mat Pilates, Move Barre and successfully completed a rigorous 600 hour Classical Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training under Alison Laundrie, owner of Move Missoula The Pilates Studio.
